If going for all the achievements, save yourself some time and just play hard mode from the start (the green/red button toggle on the top right that looks like a face).
For free, it wasn't so bad, but this is more of a "puzzle game that helps you pass time" rather than an "brain burning" puzzle. A lot of the puzzles I solved by bifurcation (guessing and following the logical leaps from said guess).
However, some of the puzzle design teaches beginner pencil puzzle techniques that should carry over to other pencil puzzles.
If you like this sort of game, check out DEG for an upcoming release. The demo is great, and proves to be quite challenging!
